Getting Ready for Baby

With four days left until my third trimester, baby shopping is in full swing. There are so many things I have on my wish list, but I've narrowed down the top five things I'm going to purchase.

1. Breast Pump

While home on maternity leave I plan to mostly nurse, but I also want to bottle feed (with breast milk) so hubby can bond with baby too. Having a breast pump will allow me to pump and store milk so I’ll have a good supply when I return to work. Since I plan to use the Avent glass and plastic bottles when I’m not breast feeding, I thought using their breast pump would be ideal.

2. Mini Crib

Living in a small NYC apartment with limited space can be challenging. We decided that a mini crib would be the best sleep option for the nursery that will coexist in our master bedroom. Mini cribs are much larger than bassinets, but much smaller than standard sized cribs. Babies can usually sleep in them until at least 2 years old.

3. Bouncer

My son loved a bouncer when he was a baby. After a feeding, the soft vibrations and overhead toy would put him to sleep right away. When searching for a bouncer, I wanted one that was space saving and battery operated. The 4moms BounceRoo was the perfect choice.

4. Car Seat & Stroller

I just love the Urbini Travel System. The stroller converts to a bassinet and can be forward or rear facing. The seat can easily be detached to become a base for the car seat, giving it so much versatility. With all the high-end strollers on the market, I find this system to be cost effective and practical.

5. Bath Tub

Bath-time is so much fun! However, baby bath tubs can be bulky and take up lots of space. The Angelcare Baby Bath Support is small and can easily be stored on the wall with a small hook. It also features a mesh bottom that offers comfort and support for baby. I think it’s the perfect size for a new born and can be used until baby is about 6-months-old.

Of course there are several others things I have on my wish list for baby, but these are a few of my must haves!

Expecting? What’s on your list? What’s one thing you suggest I add to mine? Let’s chat about it in the comments below.
