In the past I would buy cases of bottled water to keep in the house for my family, but recently I’ve decided to stop doing that. I noticed that each week my recycle bin would be running over with plastic bottles and then the next week we would buy more bottles. It’s a waste of money to continually buy bottles of water when perfectly good water comes out of the sink. Not to mention that you are doing the Earth a pretty big favor by ditching those plastic bottles.
Not fans of tap water - to ease your mind, try buying a faucet filter and attach it to your sink. This will help to get rid of most of the impurities before the water actually hits your glass.
Think about it: My family and I would spend $10 every week on a pack of bottled water. In a year, that’s over $520. Over 5 years, that’s more than $2,600. In my household that’s a lot of money that could go towards something else.
Cute cups and tap water are cheaper and better for the environment!
Most drinking cups are BPA free and can be used over and over again, saving you tons of money. Not to mention there are dozens of cute jars, water bottles and mugs conveniently placed all over most department stores.
I don’t know about you, but there’s something about a cute cup that motivates me to drink more water. Check out this Pinterest page for inspiration.
